Joseph Licitra D.C.

Dr. Licitra graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1976 with a B.S. in Biology. He graduated from chiropractic college in 1981. He has been in practice for over 30 years and currently has a solo practice as a chiropractor in Bloomfield, NJ.

Dr. Licitra also works in Harrison Spine and Rehabilitation, and Oakland Spine and Sports with Dr. Peter J. Scordilis and Dr. George C. Scordilis.

He has been trained in Kinesiology as well as sacro-occipital technique. Dr. Licitra has also been trained in Manipulation under Anesthesia (MUA). MUA gives relief too many long-standing chronic pain conditions.

Dr. Licitra’s goal is to heal patients in mind, body, and spirit. He has worked on many professional athletes including, among others, the New York Giants and the National Hockey League. He also gave chiropractic care to the football team at St. Mary’s in East Rutherford.

Neal Shah D.P.T

Dr. Neal Shah, DPT, is a North Jersey native & University of the Sciences Alumni, where he pursued his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. His clinical experience is primarily in the orthopedic and sports setting. He has treated a wide variety of conditions ranging from the post-operative individual to the young athlete.

He has also spent the past 5 years with a focus on spine-related injuries. He is a huge proponent of movement education and general wellness.

Neal has always believed in innovating physical therapy practice and joined a start-up company for virtual rehab to fill the gaps in rehab care. In his spare time, Neal enjoys exercising, playing basketball, hiking, traveling, and spending quality time with his family and friends.

Chiropractic Assistant/Office Manager

Rose Ortiz

Rose Ortiz is a Chiropractic Assistant with 27 years of experience. Her responsibilities at the office consist of managing and overseeing the patients and their paperwork. As you’ll see, she’s a very welcoming spirit when you come in for your visit.

Rose has been trained to prepare and utilizes the subluxation scan unit on all new patients prior meeting with Dr. Licitra. She has also been trained to assist the doctor by setting patients on stim machine units and Antalgic-Trak machines, or decompression units. Rose also makes sure to answer and direct all your insurance inquiries. In addition, her other responsibilities are posting payments and balance billing patients and precepts.

She ensures that all needs are met regarding the patients and the doctors. Her bilingual ability allows her to communicate with our non-English speaking patients, making them feel at ease.

Rose’s family has been in Dr. Licitra’s chiropractic care for many years. Her daughters continued with their care during their pregnancy. After the birth of her four grandchildren, they all continue getting adjusted to maintain their health to the utmost.

Rose’s goal is to help and educate more families about chiropractic health as she enjoys working in a family-oriented practice. In her free time, Rose loves spending time with her grandchildren, friends and family. She is very active in her church.

Zulma Ivette Acevedo

Zulma has been serving as a Chiropractic Assistant for 10 years. Her current experience includes setting up patients for treatment, collecting co-payments, greeting, and meeting as well as ensuring the comfort of patients. Zulma utilizes her bilingual (Spanish) skills as a translator for our non-English speaking patients.

Jessica

Jessica Evanina is a Chiropractic Assistant since 2005. Upon entering our office, Jessica will happily greet you with her bright smile and bubbly personality. She has been working alongside our doctors for about thirteen years and will continue to serve our community with her warm heart at our front desk.

Jessica’s duties at the front desk includes confirming patients’ insurance statuses and the ways in which they will pay, controls the waiting room, attends to patient needs, while ensuring the office runs on a timely manner.

Jessica’s family has been in chiropractic care for many years. Her daughter Julia got adjusted when she was two and her son Jake, when he was five years old. Her family still today continues getting adjusted to maintain their overall heath and performance.

Jessica will continue to educate people about the benefits of chiropractic and how it could it could better their overall health and performance.

Chiropractic Assistant

Vashana

Vashana Johnson is the newest Chiropractic Assistant to the team. She has been working with Dr. Licitra for a little over a year now. Vashana enjoys working alongside her amazing co-workers who trained her to take on many tasks to allow the office to run smoothy.

Her duties at the front desk includes checking patients in and out, collecting copays, scheduling them for their appointments and etc. Her other responsibilities are also to retrieve benefit verifications from our billing company and applying it to the patients travel cards.

She would work alongside her team player Jessica in the mornings who spent more time training her and sharing the knowledge she has since she has been working with Dr. Licitra.

Vashana will continue to learn and improve to create a more efficient work environment.
